Recent News

Hello.

We are putting a gig on at the Brudenell on Thursday 2nd July. Its going to be a cracker.

Bear Driver
http://www.myspace.com/thebeardriver
Fuzzy psychedelic folk-pop.
Bear Driver are roadtrip-blurs-into-sunset psych-pop melodies, soft voices that hug you, magic glockenspiel, drums kicking, organs grinding and some shouty bits too. These Bears were recently selected out of 950+ bands to play at the delightful End of The Road Festival with the likes of Fleet Foxes and Explosions in the Sky. Their recent EP ‘Paws & Claws’ has been receiving airplay on Radio 1 and 2 and notable fans include Huw Stevens and Steve Lamacq.

The (Wednesday) ‘Club
Http://www.myspace.com/thewednesdayclubhits
Indie-Riot-Pop.
Good friends of ours The Wednesday Club are a truly cacophonous (in a good way) experience. From delicate indie-pop songs to delirious fuzzed up riots the Wednesday Club are a definite ‘bull in a china shop’ experience. Now, imagine that bull raging around the china shop being poked by Guided by Voices, Neutral Milk Hotel and Pavement with Kurt Vonnegut barking orders and you’re getting somewhere close to understanding the ‘Club.

Glaciers
www.myspace.com/eventhemouseandtheglaciers
Sparse folk-pop.
Glaciers is the solo project of a Mr Nic Burrows and it is a very intimate affair. The songs draw you in with their Microphones-like simplicity but there is definitely something very pop underlying the sparse instrumentation and the ghost like singing -very good indeed.

+

Ian Williams and The Beale Street Whalers.
http://www.myspace.com/ianwilliamsmusicuk
A healthy dose of cracked gloom.
Ian Williams and his wandering waifs and strays the Beale Street Whalers deliver a unique blend of melancholic pop music in the vein of The National, The Boss and Ryan Adams. His songs subtly twist and weave, building into climaxes of intense restraint.
