On July 14 at 7:30 p.m. on WGBH Boston, watch Maria interview Paul Cuadros!
Paul Cuadros is an award-winning investigative reporter who writes about immigration, race and poverty. In 1999, Cuadros was awarded a journalism fellowship to report on the impact of the large number of Latino workers in rural towns in the South. The result was A Home on the Field: How One Championship Team Inspires Hope for the Revival of Small Town America. The book chronicles the rise of a Latino soccer team in a small South Carolina town. Cuadros, the son of Peruvian immigrants, talks about borders, racism, and what he terms “generation illegal”—the million-plus children growing up in the United States as undocumented immigrants.
