I want to be clear that I DO NOT endorse, condone, encourage or support the withholding of ANY student loan payments by anyone. I am concerned that my ECONOMIC STIMULUS proposal is being hijacked by a select few who are determined to take it in a direction that I never intended, nor do I support.

Let me be absolutely clear - NOBODY SHOULD DEFAULT ON THEIR STUDENT LOANS. As many of the nay-sayers have pointed out (albeit in a not-so-civil manner), these loans were taken out willingly by us and unless and until the terms of our obligations to pay them back are officially altered, we remain obligated to repay them.

To those who disagree with this proposal or think they have a better idea, feel free to start a different group and promote it accordingly. I'd much prefer that this doesn't become a forum devoted to arguing about whether I'm a moron trying to get something for nothing. For the record, I have never defaulted on my student loans, nor do I intend to. This group is about promoting an idea about a different way of stimulating the economy. That's all. If you don't agree with what I'm proposing, don't join - simple as that. Please try and resist the urge to email me or post comments about how stupid, lazy or misinformed you think I am. I realize that on-line self-restraint is a rare commodity, but please try to make an effort to exercise it. Thank you in advance.
