Blair Robertson they covered blow outs all year , in ball hockey and soccer, i remeber getin interviewed after a 11-1 loss in soccer so ya there is alot to write about all the names of people who scored gives ya a big enough story lol, someone should have at least been there thats all ,

Craig Loder about the best players and teams, and that goes for any league. Obviously someone should have been there tonight from the star, but before we point fingers maybe theres a reasonable explanation and this being a wed night, they may not know, I dunno. But i think we should be thankful they cover the league, and the job they do promoting the league and its players is great.

Pete - I'm adding two cents to your four

First of all hats off to all the guys who help run the league this year, and extra congrats to Griff for keep the site nice and sharp, all year everyone knew what was on the G O and everything was updated in a timely manner.
As for the coverage of the Western Star, i dont think anyone should complain. In St John's ball ...Hockey is very big, but you wont see it in the telegram, and if you do it is very seldom. The Star does a great job for this area in promoting the league and the write ups are phenomenal. Twice a week we are guaranteed a picture and story. As for the coverage of some of the other teams, well I guess its kinda gard to write about a 7-0 loss, which is typically what happens when the bottom two teams play the three / four top ones, obviously that aint the score most nights and sometime it closer but a lot of nights it can be worst, and I would assume it is very hard for any write to make that story intriguing for their viewers. like any normal sports fan you want to read Read More

I think one division should be an option for next season or at least automatic buy for Oceanex to A division for their win in B. Anyway great year guys...I really enjoyed coming back this year and one thing I did notice is there was less dirt this year then other years I have played.
To Jamie and the refs I commend you... on running the league this year, its not an easy job and if anyone has every looked at this group can see that every night late after the games Jamie is on here posting stats.
The refs did a great job and it just baffles me how these guys keep coming back after getting bitched at so much about calls. I haven't seen any ref yet take back a call. Next year I think that one player for each team should be a designated Ref for the year to give the guys a hand and help bridge the gap between players and refs.

My 4 cents (adding inflation)

Dave King Rangers are in their 3rd year I believe, Union Street has been a sponsor for 6, and the Gate for about 10. That said, yeah...my players dont show up for a lot of these things...but we didnt have it as union street for the players...we had it there to thank the bar owners for the sponsorship.

West 96 hicksy this is there first year isn't it, the gate ,rangers and usbb have been there for 3 years or so ,last year you guys were action laser, and as far as another long team is oceanex I can't see us have a banquet on the wharf. One more thing Hicksy west96 has a labbatts sponsor in a molson league can't see it ...happening ,just like gillies had a fundraiser and didn't go well.In order to go to the banquet you have to buy a ticket otherwise why print them..No good for anyone to talk about me saying this cause I'm with the rangers because the gate bought most of the tickets.lol. We all enjoy the banquet at the end of the year because we don't get to play together or against each other for another year.We all, pay to play not get paid to play no need of dying over this or gettiing tore up over it.like I say I'D RATHER BE FISHING!!! August 8th curling ranger lets not remember a thing...hahaha.Read More

well the plan for the tickets was to help cover the cost of the bbq and band that we were splitting with the ranger club, now that the ticket sales were low, were looking to have take the remaining cost out of league funds, which was not part of the idea..thats why the tickets were brought into place...but seems teams... did not want to participate...banquet numbers were extremely low last year, so this was an idea to try and get more people out...another idea that we took was more awards for B teams..so more players from those teams would come to banquet..Read More
