- Thank you to everyone who voted for and supported Bob Barr for President. With absentee and provisional ballots still coming in, it appears that Bob Barr and Wayne Allen Root will have broken the 500,000 vote barrier. While that is not as much as we'd all hoped for, it represents a significant step forward for the Libertarian Party.
As Congressman Barr said in this speech Tuesday night, "This is the beginning of the new Libertarian Party," one which will become a real political force in our great country. Campaigns and elections come and go, but the fight for liberty is ongoing. We can be assured that President Obama and Vice President Biden will not tire in their pursuit of higher taxes and spending, less personal freedom, and more destructive wars. We therefore must not tire in our effort to resist and oppose them at every turn. If you haven't already, join the Libertarian Party and continue the fight, www.lp.org.

On a personal note, I'd like to thank everyone who showed their support for Bob Barr by participating in this facebook group. It was truly an honor for our group to be chosen as the "official" group for the campaign.
As a special request from one of our members, I invite you to record your experiences with social networking and the 2008 election in an academic study through the University of Tennessee and Texas Tech University (Congrats, Red Raiders): http://survey.utk.edu/mrIweb/mrIWeb.dll?I.Project=POLITICS08
