Coldsnap Legal Collective is a legal collective formed in the Twin Cities in January 2008 to share knowledge, raise awareness, and develop a network of legal support and solidarity.
We are an autonomous collective whose purpose is to work in solidarity with other groups and individuals in order to educate, empower and support the radical community.
We are involved in the following:
* Conducting trainings on knowing your rights, jail solidarity, and options and consequences if you are arrested
* Organizing jail support for demonstrations and events as needed
* Coordinating with other national legal collectives to make all of our work more effective
Our jail support hotline is: (651) 356-8635
Our website is:

The Coldsnap name comes from the name of the largest police action in Minnesota history - "Operation Coldsnap." This action took place on Sunday, December 20, 1998 at 4 a.m., with the objective to dismantle a four-month encampment of nonviolent activists known as the Minnehaha Free State. Coldsnap Legal Collective has strategically chosen to reclaim this name in memory of this event, to say that we will not forget what has happened to the radical community in Minnesota in the past, and that we are taking action for the future!
