Open Source University 是由众多开源人事发起并参与，共同推广开放源码运动的一系列活动。本活动的目的是为高校的学生、老师、社会团体、公司搭建一个公共的交流平台，将全世界共享的开放源码文化、技术、方式、模式分享给每一位参与到这个活动中的人，帮助更多的人了解开源、参与开源，以获得更多的知识，共同推动全球开源运动的发展。

Open Source University is sponsored by numerous personnel and participate in open source, the open source movement to promote a range of activities. The purpose of this activity is to college students, teachers, community groups, the company set up a public exchange platform, the world will share the open-source culture, technology, methods, models share for each one involved in this activity people and help more people to understand the revenue to participate in open-source in order to obtain more knowledge, and jointly promote the development of the global open-source movement.

Open Source University 活动起源于2003年，由Peter Cheng (程勇) 发起，广大的开源人事共同参与，访问过中国10多所高校。2007年，开源校园行活动将再起高潮，访问全国近一百所高校，邀请众多开源软件志士共同参与，分享开源世界的知识与经验。

Open Source University activities originated in 2003 by Peter Cheng (Cheng Yong) initiated, the majority of the revenue and personnel involved in common, visited China more than 10 colleges and universities. 2007, the campus will open source activities will be renewed upsurge visit to the country's nearly 100 colleges and universities, inviting many open-source software themselves jointly participate in the open-source world to share knowledge and experience.
