Mayor Mike Moncrief's Statement Regarding Rainbow Lounge Investigation
November 5, 2009FORT WORTH, TX - "This has been a lengthy and difficult process, but I commend Chief Halstead and his team for giving the Rainbow Lounge investigation the due diligence it deserved. I especially appreciate our Police Department workin...g with the GLBT community and the Diversity Task Force to address potential challenges going forward. Fort Worth has always been an inclusive community. We respect each others' differences. That's what makes Fort Worth so special. When faced with adversity and challenge, the people of Fort Worth don't sit in separate corners. Instead, we find opportunity in challenge. We come together to address problems by finding common ground. Such was the case here. Because of this unfortunate incident, I believe Fort Worth has grown as a city, and I'm very proud of that."

This is fair warning to all. If you work with Blake, Rick, or QL, and you don’t do EXACTLY what they want, they will attack you and make your life miserable. They are so blinded by their own self righteousness that they cannot see how hateful and vindictive they have become.Their presence on the scene has cause far more... harm than any good they have done. They are truly a cancer on our community and I pray for the nightmare of QL to end. -Josh MenderhoesenRead More

I went to the Chief's photo Opt., Fairness Fort Worth did not agree with the insufficient punishment of the three officers. Suspension does not match the crime. Thank you FFW,it's nice to know we are all on the same page. Bud Kennedy with the FWST asked a question about Sgt Morris whom lead the raid to Chief Halstead, ...something like "Chief are you aware that Sgt Morris came back to the Rainbow Lounge to Preach to the Patrons/staff about their gay lifestyle ". I believe this may be why Rainbow Lounge was selected. Sgt. Richard Morris, formerly a Methodist minister now working as an officer with the Fort Worth Police Department. If he is the one, Id like to ask him if he believes GLBT are sinners and deserve punishment.Read More
