- Melbourne’s premier tram route 96 is achieving cult status. First there was the Facebook Fan Site, now the St Kilda Beach to East Brunswick Tram has its own lobby group.
Metropolitan Transport Forum (MTF) Chair, Cr Jackie Fristacky, and Deputy Chair, Cr Janet Bolitho, launched the group today with its inaugural meeting on the Bumbleebee tram to St Kilda.
Route 96 runs through Port Phillip, Melbourne, Yarra and Moreland; these Councils are committed to promoting tram use.
Tram 96 links key locations including Luna Park, South Melbourne Market, MSAC, Southbank, Museum and Exhibitions Centres, Nicholson Village and CERES.
This is Melbourne’s premier tram route, linking so many destinations and is one of the world’s best.
We invite Melburnians and visitors alike to spend a day on Tram 96, seeing all that Melbourne has to offer.
Friends of Tram 96 will focus on tourism, tram priority, accessibility, capacity and services to meet growing demand.
