Third Angel is a company making projects in theatre, live art, video, photography, visual art and on the internet. The work explores the emotional, physiological and rational realities of living in Britain [and to varying degrees Europe and the world] in the 20th and 21st centuries. It invites audiences to look and think anew about their immediate personal and social surroundings, and to bring their own experiences to bear on their interpretation of, and response to the work.

Established in 1995, and working from a base in Nether Edge, Sheffield, Third Angel is led by artistic directors Alexander Kelly and Rachael Walton who work regularly with a group of associate artists with whom a shared language and understanding has been built up over the years. The process of making the work is deliberately exploratory and responsive; ideas will be explored in a variety of media and contexts before finding a final form.

The company presents its work with a variety of partners – including theatres, galleries, art centres, festivals and education institutions - across the UK, mainland Europe and beyond.
