The University of Rochester Debate Union was founded back in 1850. The debate team is a student organization that engages in two forms of competitive argumentation known as Policy Debate and World (or Parliamentary) Debate with other schools from the northeast and around the nation. The issues covered in debates span a wide range including foreign policy, environmental issues, and many other topics. The Debate Union meets as a whole on Mondays and Thursdays at 7:00 PM in Morey 100. The Parliamentary debaters also meet at 7:30 PM on Wednesdays. (read less)
