The Malaysian Dutch Descendants Project (MDDP) is dedicated to the minority and forgotten community of Dutch descendants living in Malaysia. We invite you join us and discover more about our community. Malaysian Dutch descendants have since 1825 remained practicly invisible. This is so evident that it was presumed that the community had long ceased to exist in Malaysia. Today they are still being denied the recognition of their heritage as part of Malaysia's cosmopolitan society. Fortunately, there are those from this community who want to make a change. An attempt is being made to bring this community together and to protect their heritage, to make their existance known and to help the community regain its identity.Through the Malaysian Dutch Descendants Project, more Malaysians are now beginning to learn about the Dutch descendants in Malaysia and their heritage. In recent years, the community has managed to gain more recognition from the Malaysian public. Recognition of this once unknown community is now even being received at an academic level. (read less)
