2009:
For the third year in a row,TCNJ’s BFA students have won the Thomas George Artists Fund grant. Artists Michelle Nugent – 2009, Steve Buzash – 2008, and
Jen Keshka – 2007 won the prestigious $5,000 grant established to support an artist
engaged in drawing and painting for up to six months directly following his or her
graduation from art school or college. The purpose of the grant is to cover living
and/or other expenses for an artist engaged in drawing and painting so that he or she
will have the financial freedom to dedicate their attention full-time to drawing and
painting for a limited period after graduation or completion of art program
coursework. This respite from the demands of school and workplace is intended to
provide a time for career reflection and planning, and an opportunity to do art.
Graphic Design Senior Awards:
Each year the Art Directors Club of New Jersey Design (ADCNJ) organizes a
statewide competition that is open to all design students enrolled at New Jersey
colleges and universities. For 2009, Kevin Maulbeck won the Access Communication Award and Mike Molloy won the Rock Paper Scissor Paper ShowAward.
