Update: The Nov 1 party at La Zona Rosa was everything one could expect. Dos XX put on a top notch show, it was definitely not over-promoted, and I for one was fully satisfied. There will be another tomorrow night, so if you RSVPed for that one, you should attend!

The current purpose of this group is to provide a communication forum concerning the Dos XX Most Interesting Academy at Falkenstein Castle on 7/15/09. Dos XX/Heineken, Mirrorball (the marketing/planning company), and Rare Magazine (one of the promoters) seem to be sincerely owning up to the mistakes made in organizing this event. Please see the Dos Equis Official Update from Kheri Tillman and the Rare statement from Jason Hicks (Topic: To the good people of Austin).

I've spoken to Kheri Tillman, VP for Dos Equis, and she has assured me that Dos Equis takes full responsibility for this event. They have closely followed all communication regarding it, are aware of what went wrong, and are committed to ensuring that it never happens again. [She said she'd even send us all a case of beer if state law allowed -- that's how serious they are -- so start writing your Congressmen. ;-)] I've also had conversations with the president and the producer from Mirrorball and the events director from Rare. They too fully acknowledge what could have been done differently in their respective roles, and are committed to partnering with Dos Equis to make it up to everyone. Personally, I'm now 100% satisfied with the response.
