Ashwamedh (previously known as “9”) was formed in the summer of 2008 when a group of enthusiastic musicians came together to make some good serious music. Since all members have different influences ranging from Indian classical music,Classic Rock,Jazz,Metal etc...wanting to play Hindi Rock was not a matter of chance, but a deliberate and thoughtful selection. Wanting to make songs which the masses could relate to and at the same time do justice to the raw aggression of Rock, we got started... The name Ashwamedh came into being ,inspired by the ancient custom of “Ashwamedha Yagna”. We have only one intention. To play Hindi Rock like it has never been played before. “Rock has no boundaries, no religion and definitely no language to follow."
