Maxi started his career at Saxon Studio, singing at live dancehall sessions.
His first release was "Hey Little Girl" from 1981.
With the earnings of that release, he and Paul Robinson (Aswad) produced "Mi God Mi King" in 1984,
the first UK reggae tune to reach number 1 in Jamaica.

Maxi's first album "You're Safe" was released in 1985.
And since then he has made 9 other albums and several Compilation albums.
The last one is from 2008, called "Refused.
It comes in a book with private pics and background information about the songs.
It's a must-have for the real Maxi fan.

Everybody knows his number 1 hit "Close To You', from the album "Bonafide"
but he has had many other successes.
For instance "Set The Night To Music", his collaboration with Roberta Flack
and "Housecall" with Shabba Ranks.
And lets not forget "That Girl", a duet with Shaggy.
To promote that song, he was even in Baywatch.

He has done many collabs with artists like Beres Hammond, Dennis Brown,
Lee Ritenour, Paul Taylor, Richie Stevens, Sly & Robbie and many more.

Maxi has always been touring extensively all over the world.
He has been invited to numerous reggae festivals.

In between he is working on a new album, which will be released soon.
