We are a group of young people aged 16-18 supported by Firestarter Arts. We are going to take over this empty shop and run an information centre for young people's activities in, and around Salisbury. Run by young people for young people, it aims to promote as many things going on in Salisbury (and around) as possible. Sometimes it is difficult for young people to find out about things to do, things to see, and you don’t really know where to go. Things like gigs, events, theatre, exhibitions, music workshops, signings, sports, clubs, courses, and arts workshops for example.

The Unit would also be somewhere to go for young people to voice their views and opinions on what's happening around town and in the villages and would be somewhere to go if we have ideas about putting on our own events or projects – we can find out who we can work with, who will help us.

We have planning application to do this, and have just been awarded a grant for the lease. We have also got some funds from O2 to redecorate, and we are in the middle of raising money for a project manager and marketing budget, etc.

It will be open after school / college in the week and on saturdays....
