Attention friends, family, and other people! We are starting a business, a frozen banana stand, that is to open in Austin on (hopefully) May 16th. It will be called "Bananarchy." This is a big step for both of us, and there are a lot of things we still have to do before we open.

How can you help, you ask? Well, tell everyone you know about it, invite them to this group if you're into that kind of thing, or maybe even if you aren't and just want to be nice, and we'll go from there.

5/7/09: On Tuesday we passed the health inspection and signed for the location. Today we are supposed to paint, as soon as we decide on paint colors. - Laura

4/9/09: Thank you for being so patient, Bananarchists! I don't know if we would have the strength to keep going if it weren't for your steadfast support, and for our desire to move our trailer from in front of our neighbor's house! We have still been working on the business, though we hit a few snags with the electricity and plumbing; the fates of each of these are hopelessly intertwined in a way we never anticipated. ¡VIVAN LOS PLATANOS CONGELADOS! - Laura

3/18/09: The health inspector does not seem crazy, and why can't water go uphill and downhill, like a roller-coaster? I think, it might be fun.- Anna

3/16/09: It seems the more we do, the more we have to do. -Anna

3/5/09: Our fresh water tank sort of exploded today, so we couldn't go to the health inspection as planned. Anna, Brian Cain, and I went to lunch, and my fortune cookie was empty. I think this is a bad omen. Do you have a pressure washer? - Laura

2/26/09: Due to circumstances that may or may not be beyond our control, we have decided to delay opening until March 10th. The opening party will still be this weekend.

2/21/09: Anna and I have been hugging a lot more lately. I think this is because of stress. If you are bored or would like to know of some way you could assist us, please inform. - Laura

Later that day: Special thanks goes out to our "men of honor." You know who you are. And there's nothing like a dance party in home depot, especially when your business partner has dancing skills. Mad skills. -Anna

2/20/09: In celebration of my brother's birthday, I ran over my cell phone yesterday. This was not long after we completed the paperwork to rent space in a commercial kitchen. - Laura

2/17/09: Part of experimenting is finding out what DOESN'T work. Also, we opened a bank account today. - Laura

2/15/09: We will NOT be adding conversation hearts to our toppings.- Anna

2/13/09: Today I accidentally slept through class. Then Anna called Hershey's to ask what they thought about child labor. We pretty desperately need a location by, like, tomorrow.

Later that day: Apparently Hershey's doesn't like child labor. - Anna
