Davey Asprey’s Biography
Davey Asprey is a young, refreshing and enthusiastic DJ who has appeared on the trance scene of late. He showed a great interest in music from a very young age, listening to New Wave & Acid House in the early 90’s. His passion for EDM evolved, luring him to the white isle of Ibiza in 2004 and back again in 2005.
Davey has been influenced by some of the best trance DJ’s to come out of Europe, such as Marcel Woods, Sander Van Doorn, Richard Durand & Marco V. The moment that Davey’s DJing passion was conceived, was whilst watching the one & only Eddie Halliwell - who is still his number one rated DJ to this day.
“I first saw Eddie play at Cream Amnesia in 2005, although I was a big fan beforehand. I was influenced by his technical ability & showmanship. The energy he brings is simply amazing.”
In fact, Davey was so influenced by Eddie Halliwell, that after seeing him play he decided to take the next step forward & buy his own decks. His first appearance was at Nailed (Leicester) in 2006; following this he secured residencies across the UK. In 2007, just two years after starting his DJing career, Davey was making his debut on the white isle known as Ibiza.
Since then, Davey has been proving himself to be a DJ of great diversity, playing not only Trance, but Tech Trance, Techno, Tech House, House & Electro. The summer of 2008 saw him playing alongside one of the legends of the dance scene, Judge Jules, at the Monkey Run, Derbyshire.
“It was an unreal feeling. I have worked with Jules since 2006 but I had never got the chance to play alongside him before.”
Davey now boasts a fantastic list of appearances alongside the likes of Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, John O’Callaghan, Lisa Lashes, Richard Durand, Gareth Emery, Kutski, Paul Webster, Ali Wilson, JFK, Genix, Jordan Suckley, Vicky Devine, Tylor Leigh, David Forbes, Claudia Cazacu, NuSense & Krafty Kuts to name a few.
Determined to make his mark on the scene Davey has also worked alongside the likes of Goodgreef, Eddie Halliwell, Barry Connell (RIP), PFA, Adam Sheridan, Greg Downey, Paul Webster & John O’Callaghan.
The summer of 2008 proved to be a busy one for Davey, securing gigs at places such as the VW festival and at the one & only Judgement Sundays in Ibiza, where he played alongside Lisa Lashes, Richard Durand, Tylor Leigh, Vicky Devine, Krafty Kuts & of course, Judge Jules. Videos of his performance & Interview with Vicky Devine are not to be missed!
When the summer came to an end, Davey did a follow up to the summer showcase mix of 2007 which is getting rave reviews from the likes of Judge Jules, Jordan Suckley, Mr. Sam & Jam El Mar (Jam & Spoon) to name a few, which led to gigs at Cream in Birmingham & to finish off 2008 with a bang, Davey rang in the New Year for Gatecrasher at the Syndicate in Bristol alongside John 00 Fleming, JFK, Paul Webster, John Kelly & Jordan Suckley.
With no time spent relaxing, January 2009 saw Davey take to the decks on New Year’s Day playing a House set in Gatecrasher’s Hyper Club & the Last EVER B2T/Funkdeluxe at Subway City in Birmingham as well as headlining Amplified in Derby who he is now Resident for. Davey is also set to play for Passion’s 14th Birthday leading in the Nu Passion DJ’s alongside Ferry Corsten, John O’Callaghan, Gareth Emery, Gavyn Mytchel, JFK & Genix!
If that wasn’t enough this summer will also see making his Ukrainian & Indian Debuts as well as plans to go into production of his own tracks. His exhausting schedule is a testament to the hard work that has seen his career climb from strength to strength over the last few years, accomplishing more than many other young people in their early 20s & putting a definite Davey Asprey stamp on the dance scene.
