Massachusetts Campus Compact, in conjunction with Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service at Tufts University, launched the College Advising Corps in 2007. The aim of the Corps is to increase the college going and graduation rate of low-income and first generation high school students across Massachusetts.
The CAC recruits, trains and hires recent college graduates to work as advisers in low-income high schools. These advisers work directly with the guidance department, and also liaison with local MACC member colleges. Under the direction of an employee at the college, the advisers leverage resources to supplement their advising work and build sustainable relationships in the community to strengthen college access and success services.
