OCGS is suspending the PhD program in the Philosophy and History of Education!!!!!!

The leading Institute for the studies of education for Canada, North America, and internationally --the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at UT--has decided that scholarship in History and Philosophy of Education is not important, valuable, nor useful to studies of education. This is espeically tragic when the global and local crises faced in our world need--now more than ever-- the scholarship and insight of history and philosophy to understand the context of crises we face. Yet at such a time, the University of Toronto has joined the trend of prioritizing technical and professional knowledge over humanities scholarship that is at the foundation of the University's mission.
