Description:
This year the Government will be having a review of the current Higher Education funding system. One of the main issues in this review will be the cost of tuition fees which is currently capped at just over £3000.

However the Government are coming under increasing pressure from Vice Chancellors of Universities TO TAKE THE CAP OFF FEES!

Currently the cap is set at £3,225, but if the cap is removed students can be expected to pay up to £10,000 per year for some institutions.

Hi all,

Thank you for joing this group. I just thought I'd send you a few details about what we're upto next week.

In 5 days Wednesday 4 November, we'll be at Picadilly Gardens from 3pm with loads to do and get involved in to argue for a fairer higher education funding system.

A flash mob with students from the University of Manchester Students' Union, Manchester Metropolitan Students' Union and Salford Students' Union will be kicking things off on Wednesday, there will be a wall of debt and hundreds of students (dressed in red) running away from ‘debt’.

The day will conclude with a debate at Manchester Town Hall, 7pm; with students firing off questions to attendees from each of the main political parties - come along and get involved!

See you then.
