This year the Government will be having a review of the current Higher Education funding system. One of the main issues in this review will be the cost of tuition fees which is currently capped at just over £3000.
However the Government are coming under increasing pressure from Vice Chancellors of Universities TO TAKE THE CAP OFF FEES!
Currently the cap is set at £3,225, but if the cap is removed students can be expected to pay up to £10,000 per year for some institutions.
WE FEEL THAT THIS CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN and that’s why we are supporting NUS’s FAIRER FUNDING CAMPAIGN!

On the 4th & 5th NOVEMBER we will be TAKING OVER THE CITY OF MANCHESTER! The University of Manchester Students' Union, Manchester Metropolitan Students' Union and Salford Students' Union will be teaming up to bring two days of student action and campaigning designed to make the public aware of the proposed plans!
We have an array of events planned ranging from a flash mob to a debate in the Town Hall, which will be attended by local MPs and dignitaries.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN! The aim of this event is to drive support from the student population and the wider community on a whole. If you feel that you can help in any way then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, either through this group or email!
We are looking for:
*Flash mob volunteers - you can be chased by debt or chasing students in a big fatsuit!
*Photographers to grab people and ask them to pose with signs against tuition fees, or with the amount of debt they owe
*Participants in a human "wall of debt" - congregate outside the Town Hall dressed in red and hold up your debt
*Flyer distributors who are willing to talk to people at train stations as they give out flyers
*Debate attendees for the Town Hall debate
