With its first news release of 2008, the world's largest society for public relations professionals --PRSA -- spewed forth little more than nonsensical hooey. The release is embarrassing to the society and to all who call themselves "PR professionals." As Barney Fife might say, "It's time to nip it in the bud!"
This Facebook group respectfully requests that PRSA hire one of its own -- a strategic professional who understands the difference between news and hyperbole -- and a PR professional willing to offer honest and sincere counsel to the national board of directors. This board seems unconcerned with one of the most important tenets of our profession: Clear and meaningful communication.
Let's fix that.
