Just what it says. Rally against the media who is quick to place blame, against the culture that has forgotten that people like Phil are suspects, not killers.
Groups have come up since the creation of this group proclaiming that Phil is guilty. His guilt or innocence is really not the reason for this group - the reason for this group is encouraging and reminding the American public how our legal system works and to not let them get sucked into the media coverage that is quick to forget the very basis of due process and a fair trial before one's peers.
Threads in the discussion board that are personal attacks on anyone involved - be it Phil, his fiancee, or the creator of this group - will be summarily deleted and may result in a ban, or possibly a report to the Facebook staff. Please keep conversation intelligent and insightful.
Thank you very much for your membership - it is a wonderful show of support for Phil, his fiancee, and their families!
ADMIN NOTE: This group was created to cause the media to reconsider their policies of turning suspects into criminals without the true due process of the law. Because it is the current issue, discussion as to the guilt/innocence of Phil Markoff will be allowed, but it is not the focus of this group. I am not going to ban any members as of this time. However, I have made a list of names of people who are instigating these discussion posts that are not permitted by the rules stated in this description. If those names pop up repeatedly or are flaming any member of the group (admin or otherwise), they will be summarily banned from the membership of the group. If the offense is dramatically severe, Facebook will be notified on top of the ban. Keep the discussion civil, and ON TOPIC - regardless of the purpose of the group, any posts that are considered off-topic in a thread will be deleted, as well as the same message spammed across multiple threads. Thank you.
I am unable to keep a daily eye on this group; I leave it to be "self policed" - if someone is being overly inflammatory, let me know and I will consider it. In the meantime, if you think that someone is attacking you, ignore them and do not attack them back. It makes it easier to delete their posts.
Any discussion of Megan McAllister will no longer be tolerated. Keep the discussion about Phil and about the legal system.
