- Participants of the 2008 Crabs, Crabs, Crabs Field School adventured into salt marshes and coastal estuaries of Wellfleeet Bay for three days of fast-paced, hands-on discovery. They found, identified and surveyed all the real crabs of the Outer Cape and they joined in research of the seemingly ageless horseshoe crab, whose numbers and very existence are now severely pressured by modernity. Along the way, they encountered the elusive & threatened diamondback terrapin, live squid and squid eggs, flounders, ospreys, shorebirds, seals and a host of other seaside critters.
