It's time for this country to have a national nurses movement, standing up for our patients...and for our rights!
86,000 nurses in all 50 states have joined the National Nurses Organizing Committee or its sister organizations the California Nurses Association (CNA), Maine State Nurses Association (MSNA) and Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses & Allied Professionals (PASNAP).
We stand for three main things:
1. Safe RN to patient ratios on all units at all times. We passed this law in California and it has been a huge success, with RNs from around the world flocking to practice our profession safely. Now let's take safe ratios across the country!
2. Guaranteed, universal healthcare on the single-payer model. As RNs we see what this healthcare crisis means, and it cannot go on any longer.
3. Nurse Rights!
Please join us. You can join the group to become an online NNOC member, or visit our Web sites to learn how to become an individual member, or to start organizing your facility. They're at: www.CalNurses.org or www.NNOC.net and www.NetforNurses.net.
