Thursday Nov 19th
Jackson is now resident in Rancho Los Amigos in Downey, CA. He made the transfer from UCLA this afternoon and every thing went smoothly. He'll likely be here for several weeks, before going home.
It's 19 days since his accident and he has come such a long way. Tomorrow, he starts intense rehab which, judging by the program the doctors described, will tire even "Action Jackson" out!
He has a very large room which is now decorated with so many of the banners, posters and cards etc. Every day sees us deliver more good wishes. I also know many of you would like to drop by and see Jackson and the time is approaching when he will be able to have general visiting. I'll post here when that will be.
In the meantime, Jackson is sleeping soundly and ready for the next part of his recovery. Thanks, everyone for continuing to support our son.

Tuesday Nov 18th
Jackson's had his first solid food (lasagna) and it is clearly good news he can now enjoy a normal diet. He continues to improve a little bit every day and is well enough to be moved to a rehab facility where he will finalize his recovery and recuperate.
I'll post the address of where he is and the other relevant details tomorrow or when he moves, if later in the week.
Jackson's room now contains a stunning poster made by the Poly cheerleaders, an LA Cougars rugby shirt, a wonderful paper chain from Poly Junior school and several other get well messages and gifts. Thank you everyone.

Good news. Jackson is out of the ICU and into the neuro observation unit. He responded a little bit more with doctors today as they asked him a few questions.
He is in a very comfortable room with all we could ask for in terms of care.
Jackson now has next to him an origami crane, the first of 1000 being folded at Poly. The ancient Japanese tradition has it that anyone who folds 1000 origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, typically recovery from injury or illness.
Thank you for supporting Jackson in so many wonderful ways.

Last night Jackson was transferred from UCLA Harbor to the intensive care unit at UCLA Westwood. The transfer went well and he slept on arrival.
This hospital has state of the art care and facilities as well as physicians precisely in the areas Jackson requires. We are comforted knowing we have the finest medical minds to work on determining the best possible outcome.
Jackson will now have more tests and scans. Every day we pass to him a few more of the hundreds of supportive messages, cards and mail we have received. He knows you're there.

Jackson is awake, but sleeps a lot, and has undergone more scans and tests.
The doctors are now confident that Jackson can begin the next stage of his recovery process by moving out of the ICU in the next few days.
We are now working on the best acute care and inpatient rehabilitation facilities that will ensure his best recovery.
Jackson continues to receive many cards, gifts and other get well messages. Our whole family is deeply appreciative of your support, help and prayers, not only for Jackson, but our entire family. They carry us a long way during this very difficult time.
Get well soon Jackson Allan!

Friday November 6th noon
Jackson is breathing unaided. The breathing tube was removed just a little while ago.
The doctors have said it will be a while before we know exactly how he is beyond clearing this most difficult initial period. He is still seriously ill and we've been advised to keep visitors to family for a while. His mom and/or his dad remain bedside 24/7
He is sleeping pretty soundly, surrounded by his Panther football memorabilia and an orange "41" patch (thank you Leslie Saeta)
As you can imagine all the family are extremely happy, while realizing there is a long and potentially hazardous way to go. For instance, he doesn't yet know what has happened to him.
Jackson will remain in the ICU for a few more days and I'll update this page on Monday 9th or before if there is something significant to report.
Lastly, a very impressive poster of get well messages was delivered last night from the Chadwick cheerleaders on behalf of the school. Many, many thanks. The support from other schools has been remarkable.
Jackson has a long we to go; the support he receives carries him far. Get Well Soon Jackson Allan!

From Les Allan

Jackson remains critical and stable today and having reached the day physicians said was key, a good night tonight for Jackson will be regarded as progress. Let's see how he is in the morning.
I visited Poly today and was simply stunned by the outpouring of goodwill for Jackson: cards, banners, group messages and pictures all adorned the entrance to Senior School. It was simply overwhelming and an amazing expression of support for Jackson; thank you everyone. Poly is a great school, but it is rare indeed to be a great community. Jackson is fortunate indeed to be part of it.
I spent time with Debbie Reed, Jamie Neilson, Brendan McGrail and the 4 football captains. I then left school and returned to the hospital carrying 4 billboards of messages, a signed football and, yes, THE orange T-Shirt with #41 and "Jackson" on it. These are all displayed next to Jackson's bed; his team are by his side.

Jackson had another good day today with progress as good as the (excellent) medical team advised us to expect. He remains stable, but critical, with his family at his side.
Jackson has received so much support, love and many prayers. We'd like to thank everyone that is taking time out and urging his recovery. From his first schools in Wimbledon, England, The Rowans and King's College, to Mayfield Junior and Poly here in Pasadena, his friends and family in the UK and the US, thank you to each and every one of you.

Jackson Allan, a 10th grade student at Pasadena Poly was seriously injured toward the end of Chadwick School's Homecoming football game with Poly...
Jackson sustained a traumatic head injury and lost consciousness. Chadwick parent Dr. Roger Lewis, Pasadena Poly parent Dr. Drew Pinsky, and other Chadwick and Poly medical and athletic professionals responded immediately. Dr. Lewis accompanied Jackson and the EMT's to Harbor UCLA Medical Center, where Roger is a faculty member and emergency room doctor, and facilitated Jackson's speedy admission to surgery.
Surgery to relieve pressure on the brain from internal bleeding was successful.
Jackson is currently in critical but stable condition. Please, keep Jackson and his family in your thoughts and prayers. They need all the support they can get. Thank you.
