you are receiving this because you signed up to the Macquarie University Roleplaying Society in 2008, 2009, or are an ex-member on our mailing list. Most of you probably don't know me, except as 'that annoying guy who keeps filling my inbox with spam'.
This is not spam. :)
On Monday the 18th of May, 2009 at 5:30pm, we will be holding an Annual General Meeting. That is a meeting to determine the future of the club. It's your chance to have your say. There are a number of important things on the agenda for this meeting. If you wish to sign up, we will be able to offer membership from 5pm for $2 each. You cannot vote in the AGM once it starts, so make sure you are a member before 5:30pm.
On the agenda:
- Meeting Opened by 2008 executive
- Financial Summary by treasurer
- Summary of 2008 events and assets
- Motion to change the constitution to reflect specific jobs of the non-office bearing executives
- Voting in of the 2009 executive
- Motion to remove requirement to advertise AGM in 'weekly' student publication, as this is no longer weekly and thus obsolete
- Motion to change the name of the society.
--- this is a two part motion. The first is whether to change the society name. The second is to what. The names suggested are below.

Keep in mind that while the motion is to change both the society name and acronym, it is NOT to change the name of MacquarieCon (Maccon). As well, one thing which has been suggested was that we change the society name, but leave the name MURPS as a sub-branch of the society. If this ends up being the case, it is entirely up to the 2009 executive if they want to proceed with this. Do not take this into consideration when you vote on this motion. The motion is purely to change the name and acronym.
DETAILS:
Who?: Everyone is invited. We normally play games afterwards too. Only members can vote, but you can join between 5 and 5:30pm.
What?: Annual General Meeting

When?: 5pm - 7pm, May 18th
Why?: Voting of new executive and constitutional amendments.
Bring friends along please! Last year we had an abysmal turnout of 8 people and couldn't form quorum. That's silly. Everyone should be able to make it.
