"a tour-de-force performance from a comic who's been on the ropes but definitely come back bigger and bolder, connecting bang on the funny bone. * * * *" – Chortle.co.uk
The show is now called “Lewis Schaffer is Free Until Famous”, and just like the Free Festival shows in Edinburgh it is free to get in, and there is a collection at the end. Certainly this is the best comedy deal in London for such a good act, and you should make your way along if you can! (and you can also catch Lewis on the Radio every Monday at 10.30pm on 104.4 Renaissance FM.)

"Laughing Horse Comedy has brought Free Fringe to thousands every year at the Edinburgh Fringe, often delivering up quality comedy goods over and better than high priced shows at some of the bigger cash-guzzling venues." - Fringe Review
"The Laughing Horse's Free Fringe shows serve as a useful reminder of that frequently encountered concept - The Spirit of the Fringe" - Time Out
"What should worry [now ex-Fringe director] Morgan and, indeed, the Big Four, not entirely smiling all the way to the bank, is the continuing growth of the free Fringe, where punters pay what they wish at the end of a show; some comics report they have made more from the collection bucket than they ever did at the main venues."- The Guardian
“There is a rebellion at the Fringe this year. High venue costs have caused some artists to take matters into their own hands. Doug Stanhope is charging £7349 for a one-off show in someone's living room and the Free Fringe organisations have brought more acts than ever to Edinburgh at no extra charge” – The List
“The Best Freebies: Shows are free to audiences, venues do not charge fees to performers. The Free Festival is hosting 157 shows – with an expanded programme which now includes children’s shows, a free nightclub and an opera. Performers tend to pass round a hat at the end of every show – but there is no pressure and you’ll enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere.” – The Scotsman
"The Laughing Horse’s Free Fringe have given hundreds of performers a chance to get up in front of bigger and more appreciative audiences than they might normally encounter.” – The List
"Audiences have been receptive to the "Free Festival" which enables them to balance out paying for shows and seeing acts for free." - The BBC
“The absolute jewel in the crown has been the free festival at various venues throughout the city. The addition of this new strand to the festival must make it [The Edinburgh Fringe] the most inclusive festival in the world" - The BBC.
"Great Value for Money" - Three Weeks
"A Great Idea" - Edinburgh Guide
"The worst advice I ever received was that I had to pay tons of money to attract a decent crowd at a respected venue for my shows. I followed that advice for three years and then discovered Alex Petty’s Laughing Horse Venue, where people pay what they can and fill the venue to see a show. I have done my best, most well received shows at that venue." - Lynn Ruth Miller
Listed in the Scotsman's 'Best New Venues 2008', 'Best Late Night Comedy 2008' and 'Best outdoor drinking 2007.
