So, for those of you who don't know, the plan is as follows:
All CHP (Second years at least) who get in to VDC are planning to fill a whole building or at least buildings that are close in order to keep up with CHP stuff and avoid long walks through VDC to see one another. So that's basically it. A basic plan with basic filling in of house numbers. Current VDC residents have been thinking the buildings 618, 619, or 623 would be good possible houses being that they are in close proximity to one another and are close to the first bus stop, a barbecue, and an undergraduate lounge. They are also close to the VDC community center and the pool. Lots of neat little things. It is also nearby the first set of visitor parking spots and close to VDC road which leads out to Culver. So if you guys would like to participate, then just keep watching this group and we'll all discuss it. Also, if you'd like to take a look at the place and haven't been here before or don't know what I'm talking about, then go ahead and come up and we'll show you around.

Most of you by now have received a pleasant e-mail from the VDC Housing Office telling you that you now have a spot in VDC and there will be some follow-up stuff to do very quickly. The most important thing is that you all print out your application form that was sent out to you. Be certain of who you want to room with and if you are in need of more roommates and are willing to live with other CHP then please post on the wall or discussion board. I am sure there are those out there looking for roommates as well. The second important thing is to realize that it is IN YOUR OWN INTEREST to turn in your application as soon as the VDC office will take it. I am not certain as to when the entire window opens for us all. I know for sure that it opens December 5 for those students RENEWING leases. For those who are just joining us I think that I heard your window opens about the same time but I am not sure. If you want to get your choice in regards to building and roommates you should turn in your applications as soon as possible.

This brings me to my next topic which I would like us all to discuss together: Suggested apartment buildings. If you have seen VDC before, then you know that the apartment buildings are in little clusters around either barbecues or the community center or they line the street. The apartments that are the largest are typically 4-person apartments which I believe most of us are interested in. The apartment buildings that I would suggest would be 618, 619, 623, and 620. These are all very close to the first bus stop and right by the ARC fields. They are also by the parking lot and first set of visitor parking spots (which are limited). If anyone else has any questions or comments, please leave it out here for all to see and consider. Time is short if we all want this plan to work out so please keep close watch and even come up and take a look around for yourself.
