AFTER JOINING, please answer these questions on the discussion thread:
1. what days/times work for you?
2. can you bring your own machine that can play UT and has wifi?
Want to get your oldschool Unreal Tournament on? Some of my research requires collecting data from real people playing first-person shooters. To this end, I'm hosting a few UT99 LAN parties on campus some time this quarter. Software (slightly modified UT99 GOTY ed.) provided, and maybe limited hardware too. Food and drink, however, are prohibited in labs and the Simularium and I'll be enforcing that stricly so that we don't get kicked out. Game types will include DM, TDM, CTF, and maybe DOM (AS and InstaGib aren't interesting for my research), and be somewhat randomly selected. Time and locations haven't been worked out yet.
These will not be tournaments - rankings not will be tracked.
If you're interested, join this group so I know who to invite. Also invite friends who you think might be interested. All participants will have to be age 18 or over. You might have to be a UCSC student or faculty - still figuring out what lab we'll be in. Besides that everyone is welcome.
