YesWeCare is a project that demonstrates the intense international interest in the 2008 American elections and support for progressive change in US politics.

More than at any other time in history the citizens of the world are watching this election, hoping that this will be the time the United States re-engaged with the world as partners to take real action to combat climate change, reduce poverty, advance disarmament and address the root causes of terrorism. We are watching, and hoping, that American voters will recognize the historic moment we find ourselves in, when new hope must be matched by concerted action to build a better world. We know this cannot be achieved without the United States. And while we cannot vote in the upcoming election we want you to know: Yes we care!

Founded by young people from around the world YesWeCare will ask global citizens to demonstrate their interest at the to-be-launched YesWeCare08.org. The site will offer coverage of the US elections from a global viewpoint, increasing the understanding of an international audience of US politics and of US citizens of global concerns. It will house blogs, photos, videos and profiles and act as a jumping-off point for global citizens interested in the 2008 elections. The Pledge and information is in six languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portugese and Mandarin.

YesWeCare can demonstrate to American voters that the world is watching what happens on November 4, that while we cannot vote we have a stake in the future that is created by their actions and choices.
