The Brown Band is a completely student run musical group founded in 1924 to play at sporting events. The Band plays at all football games in the fall in the traditional scramble band style of the Ivy-League; no marching for us. We also play at many other sporting events on and off campus. We play during Orientation Week to welcome the freshmen and University gatherings and increase our numbers in May to become the Commencement Band. In the winter we gear up for hockey to become the first ice-skating band in the world. We also play at events in Providence and the surrounding community as ambassadors for Brown. Above all else the Band remains Ever True to Brown. (read less)
