One week down! Come celebrate with fellowship, recreation, and worship this weekend at Wesley!

Wesley Worship -- Sun. 4:30 pm
Pastor Lana and the drama team will share on the theme “Rethink Priorities.” Our awesome Wesley praise band will lead the singing! Come early for refreshments, stay afterwards for “Loaves ‘n Fishes” supper by Kallen.

First COM and Winterization Planning meetings!
On Sunday at 6:15 pm come with new ideas to help plan and organize the activities of Wesley this semester with the Council on Ministries Student Leadership!
On Monday at 5:30 pm our biggest service project of the year will begin to take shape. Come help plan for Winterization 2010 that will occur on Saturday, Nov. 20! Over 300 college students need breakfast, supplies, and elderly yards to rake on that day – come help make it possible.


Next Weekend…

Community Service Opportunity -- Thursday, September 2
Help our partner UMC in Attica, IN serve the hungry! Meet at Wesley at 3:30 pm to carpool to Attica, IN (30 minutes away) and help set-up, cook, serve, clean-up, and take-down. Look for this every first Thursday of the month this semester. If you can't leave at 3:30 pm but are still interested let us know and we will try to set up a later carpool. Return to Purdue at 8 pm.

Labor Day Canoe Retreat – Sept. 6 @ 9 a. m.
On Labor Day MONDAY, we will be joining up with friends from Illinois Wesley Foundations for a great fellowship day of canoeing, hiking, and eating! Come enjoy some of the most beautiful parts of Central Indiana along Sugar Creek. Remember your baptism in fun and meaningful ways! You need: $10 for canoe and afternoon snack, wear a swim suit and/or clothes to get wet in and water shoes, hat, sun screen, bug spray, a sack lunch (or come to Wesley by 8:45 a. m. to make a PBJ), a change of clothes and shoes for hiking later, money for supper at Pizza Hut on the way home, and friends! Meet at Wesley Foundation @ Purdue, 435 W. State St. @ 9 a. m. and return about 9 p. m.

• 7:30 pm - Ultimate Frisbee Recreation -- come to the Gold Intramural Field (across from Shreve and next to the marching band practice field).

• 5:30 pm Winterization First Planning Meeting

Tuesday, August 31
• 7 pm Disciple Bible Study is a small group in-depth scripture study that is centered on becoming a more faithful disciple. This is the 2nd semester in this 3 semester series – which you can join any semester! This semester will start out in the Old Testament with "The Writings" (Pslams, Proverbs, Job, Esther, Daniel, Jonah) and work its way through the Gospels.
• 8 pm - Praise and Small group discussion is a big part of our ministry, so come by and get engaged in a class! Start together in the lounge singing praise songs and then the options are...
- FROGs - Frogs is a Bible Study/small group discussion environment for freshman. We emphasize growing together in community and studying relevant material to the freshman life. We also like to have a lot of fun!
- Undergrad - Is for any undergraduate folks who are looking for a laid-back, life-comprehensive small group experience. From theology, to scripture, to experience, to social matters.
- Graduate - A special Small group for graduate students who are all having a unique experience in life. This Bible study will emphasize prayer.
• 9:15 pm - More Praise, Devotion, and Communion Worship
• 10 pm Just Desserts

Thursday, Sept. 2
• 3:30 pm – Attica Community Meal – Service Project
• 7:30 pm - Wesley Recreation! We are playing ultimate frisbee out behind the co-rec on the Gold Intramural fields
