Students for Environmental Awareness and Sodexho are working together to
create a reusable mug that students, faculty and staff can use to receive
a discount at Jazzman's. We need a logo that is 2.5 inches wide by 2
inches high, that says Students for Environmental Awareness and
incorporates a theme of sustainability. The winner will receive a gift
certificate for $100 at the UMBC Bookstore, and the deadline for
submissions is April 11th.

Wednesday(4/2)-
Potluck and Tie Dye at Leah’s place! (Tuckahoe 823) 7pm- ?? Please bring food to share, and clothes that can get messy if you plan to help with tie dye. We will be eating and then dyeing the shirts for EcoFest!

Saturday (4/5)-
Jug Bay Cleanup! 9am-3pm! SUPER FUN, SUPER MUDDY! Plan to get muddy, and bring an extra change of clothes! We will be carpooling, and leaving at 7:50. Please email Danni ASAP (lipinsk1@umbc.edu) if you are planning to come!
Campus Clean-up with Karin Readel! A possible shorter/closer option for those who don’t have the entire day and/or are merely spoil sports and don’t like to get very muddy. No hard feelings. We still like you. Meet in the parking lot in front of Patapsco at 9 am.
In preparation for Earth Day, join campus community members and Friends of the Patapsco Valley and Heritage Greenway, Inc. as we clean the streams on UMBC's campus as part of the statewide annual Project Clean Stream! This is the 4th year UMBC has participated in this event- last year approximately 50 volunteers removed over 1200
lbs of trash from the stream. Gloves, garbage bags, and refreshments will be provided. Meet in Parking Lot 13 (across from Patapsco Hall at the corner of Hilltop Circle and Poplar Ave) at 9:00 - 9:15 am to check in. The clean up will run through noon, but we'll welcome volunteers for whatever time you can spare.
Please RSVP to Karin Readel at readel@umbc.edu by Friday, April 4th so we can make sure to have enough supplied and refreshments on hand.
Sunday(4/6)-
Adopt a Road! 1pm. Meet at the Commons circle and we will carpool (or walk if you are Brian) to the site. If you can’t come at one, we will be working near the gas station (the ghetto one) on Wilkens Ave (Past Maiden Choice lane and left at that weird intersection).
Soon but not Quite Yet:

ECOFEST is coming up!!! EcoFest will be Tuesday, April 22th from 12-8 on Commons Main Street. (The same day as Earth Day!) We will a similar format to last year, which is to have speakers from 12-4, and bands from 4-8. We are trying to get lots of give-aways, tons of interesting info and some food. We are going to have lots of great activities like natural tye-dye, a raffle, a plant sale, and possibly something to do with mushrooms. The theme will be sustainability, and we will be doing workshops to teach people how to reduce their ecological footprint!
