- Asian Student Union was one of the original organizations that resulted from the Third World Liberation Front in 1968 known as Asian American Political Alliance. When we changed the name in 1974 to Asian Student Union, the ideas remained the same. Founded on the principle that they would help others have a voice, ASU has promoted the ideas of history, struggle and involvement in both school and community.
