We are Northwestern's World Taekwondo Federation Taekwondo Club. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and combat sport. It emphasizes kicks both stationary and jumping. Students who join as beginners will learn basic low, middle, high punches, basic form, and some fundamental kicks including rising, front snap, and roundhouse kick. They will also learn some sparring and self defense techniques. You don't have to have prior taekwondo experience to join. We encourage people with no background to come and try it out. We have regular testing each quarter which gives students the opportunity to move up in the belt color and rank. Our practice is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Patten Gym from 8:30-10 at night. If anyone is interested in joining or even just seeing what our club is all about contact our President John Yang, JohnYang2007@u.northwestern.edu
