Mission Statement:
The purpose of the CLT shall be to further the cause of Liberty; to promote, through educational and political activity, the principles and candidates of the Libertarian Party; and to provide a social atmosphere for fellow students and faculty of Towson University with libertarian ideas or philosophies.

The following are some basic objectives of the libertarian movement:
• The government should not censor speech, press, media, or the Internet.
• Military service should be voluntary. There should be no draft.
• There should be no laws regarding sex for consenting adults.
• The repeal of laws prohibiting adult possession, sale, and use of drugs.
• There should be no National ID Card.
• Ending "corporate welfare," in other words, there should be no government handouts to businesses.
• Ending government barriers to international free trade. In other words, the repeal of all subsidies, tarriffs, and trade embargoes.
• Letting people control their own retirement; privatize Social Security or allow citizens to fully opt-out thereof.
• Government welfare being replaced by private charity.
• Cuts in taxes and in government spending of 50% or more.
• The repeal of all laws limiting gun ownership and self-defense.
• A strict separation of church and State. We oppose government actions that either aid or attack any religion.
