All undergraduate students interested in economics, whether or not they are majoring in economics, are invited to join the Undergraduate Economics Club. The Club organizes numerous activities throughout the year, including:

* panel discussions on current economic events
* presentations about job opportunities for economics majors
* presentations about getting ready for the job market
* presentations about participating in co-op and internship programs
* field trips (e.g., Chicago Board of Trade, Mercantile Exchange)
* faculty-student mixers
* presentations by faculty members about their current research
* meetings with alumni from UIC's graduate and undergraduate Economics programs
* information sessions on graduate school and professional school
* "Meet the Head"-- conversations with the head of the Economics Department

Participating in the Club is an excellent way for students to learn more about economics and what one can do with an economics degree after graduation.The Club also provides a good opportunity to meet other students with similar interests and to interact with members of the Economics faculty informally outside of the classroom. Students interested in developing leadership skills are encouraged to participate in the Club as officers, helping to plan and organize the various events. Overall, participating in the Club is a useful and meaningful extracurricular activity, and all students interested in economics are encouraged to join.
The Club meets once every two weeks for about an hour. Events are posted in the Bulletin.
