This is Merced's first Black Student Union-- the African American Student Association which proudly represents the African culture and heritage at UC Merced that now spans the entire globe. We are here to set a positive example for everyone and to show the world that African American's and all people of African descent are a force to be reckoned with. Our organization serves the purpose of organizing and representing the interests of Black undergraduate students at UCM. We are primarily an organization geared toward communicating the particular needs and concerns of Black students to the administration and general university community, as well as to provide the university with programming and information relevant to the Black experience.
