This is a joint venture between Pitt and Penn State students to bring back one of college football's greatest rivalries. The two schools are approximately 138 miles apart and have played 96 times, with the Nittany Lions having gone 50-42-4 against the Panthers. They have not played since the year 2000. This is an injustice to all Pitt and Penn State students, as well as all Pennsylvania residents and fans of both schools.
In addition, Pitt and Penn State men's basketball will no longer continue playing. The teams have met 145 times, with Penn State holding a 75-70 advantage. The final meeting was in December of 2005. Though this rivalry is rarely as heated as football, both schools have the room on their schedules to play it.
