you are about to learn how to play...THE GAME.
that's right. the name of the game is simply "the game" and the object of the game is not to think about the game. this may sound confusing but just keeping reading. once you've learned how to play the game (which would be now) you're not allowed to think of the game. when you think about the game you lose. some examples:
1. if you were randomly thinking "hah i remember when sophie made that facebook group to teach everyone the game"
2. "hmm i forgot how to play the game"
or if you or anyone else who plays the game says something out loud you lose. for example, if somebody asked you to teach them how to play the game you lose.
but the game doesn't end there! (that would be pretty lame and pointless). once you've lost the game you have to announce it so that you and everyone around you loses the game. for example if you thought about it like one of the examples i listed above and you were at lunch or something you have to say "i just lost the game!!" and then everyone else loses too.
once you've lost the game you have ten minutes in which you are allowed to think about the game without losing. then you start playing again.
this isn't the type of game that you sit down and decide to play. you're always playing (or i guess you'd say trying not to play!!). there is no winner, only losers. and the game's only fun if lots of people know how to play. because if you're walking through the locker hall like "omg i just lost the game!" everyones gonna be like "whattt!?" if they dont know. but if you spread it to all your friends it is SO much fun!!
another aspect of the game...
when my friend natalie taught it to me at camp, she put up a piece of paper in the corner of the mirror in the girls bathroom that said "YOU JUST LOST THE GAME!" and this was QUITE tricky. because you couldnt look at the paper or else you'd be thinking about the game but if you're trying to hard NOT to look at the paper then you're thinking about it anyways!!
so spread the word about the game, and start playing...NOW!
