Visit www.promoteOT.org This website represents a new initiative by AOTA to increase consumer awareness of OT. The site contains a lot of information for both consumers and professionals, is easy to navigate, and is pretty neat!

Did you know that of approximately 117,000 registered OTs in this country, only 30% are members of AOTA? Without a professional association, we would be nowhere!! Spread the word to JOIN AOTA! It's cheaper to join as a student, and during your first TWO years as a licensed professional, you only pay 50% of member dues!

Did you know??? Apart from the United States, South Africa is the only other country in the world to have licensed Occupational Therapy Assistants (see the article in this month's OT Practice on OT around the world). Pretty neat! See www.wfot.org for more information about OT from around the globe.

April is Occupational Therapy Month in the U.S.! I know Canada's OT month is in October, but it would be great to hear about those of other countries! Share ideas of how to promote OT and enhance practitioner recogition by both the healthcare system and general public!
