Acting on AIDS is a program started by Christian college students to create awareness and activism of the global AIDS pandemic at colleges and universities across the nation. With the support of World Vision, Christian college students have formed a network of Acting on AIDS chapters which seek to change hearts on campuses, create awareness in communities, and advocate for those impacted by the global AIDS pandemic.
At Hope, this entails we first learn, discern, and then act on confronting HIV/AIDS. We will learn about the greatest public health crisis in the history of humanity – and hopefully realize what we as Christians are called to do. We will see that HIV/AIDS is not merely a medical issue. It is profoundly a social, political, economic, moral, ethical, and religious issue. U2 lead singer and activist Bono has it right. We will not only be judged by future generations on how we confront HIV/AIDS - but by God.
