Liberian Literacy Foundation Book Drive
Donate a book (or 10!) to the Liberian Literacy Foundation. Our book drive goes to help education in Liberia- a country where 80% of the population lives on less than $1 a day and 90% of women and 75% of men are illiterate. Look for drop locations around campus or email one@bu.edu and we will pick up your books from you directly.

Film Festival Fall '09
-All movies will be shown in the GSU Conference Auditorium (second floor) starting at 7:30pm.
-Tuesday, 11/17 "The Girl in the Cafe". The Girl in the Cafe has been described as a passionate plea to humankind - wrapped in a love story, a comedy and a unique drama. Itis a call to arms that shamelessly sets out to entertain, inform and challenge audiences
to act. Above all, the film seeks to raise awareness about the important political choices facing the G8 leaders at the next Summit and the Millennium Development Goals. The film stars Bill Nighy, the man who played the aging English rocker in Love Actually,
and is directed by David Yates, the director of the Harry Potter movies.
-Wednesday, 11/18- "A Closer Walk". A documentary that explores the intricate relationship between health, dignity, and human rights and provides a definitive
portrayal of humankind's confrontation with the global AIDS epidemic. The movie is directed by Robert Bilheimer and narrated by Glenn Close and Will Smith. It also includes interviews with the Dalai Lama, Kofi Annan, and Bono as well as stories of children, women and men living with AIDS on four different continents.
-Thursday, 11/19- "Hotel Rwanda". The aware winning film about the true-life story of Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager who housed over a thousand Tutsi refugees during their struggle against the Hutu militia in Rwanda.
