The overall goal of the club is to increase environmental knowledge and discussion between the faculty, staff and students on campus. We hope to build a foundation of environmental knowledge that the next generation of Regis scholars may take with them after graduating.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Regis University SPEAK club is to connect all the members of the club, as well as the entire Regis community, in developing a more sustainable college campus. This will be completed by sponsoring and organizing campus and community programs. The overall goal of the club is to increase environmental knowledge and discussion between the faculty, staff and students on campus. We welcome individuals from the entire Regis community. We hope to build relationships and partnerships with other associations and departments on campus to better reach the Regis population. We look forward to working outside of the Regis community as
well, with local organizations and businesses, to build a larger foundation and increase our resources. We hope to build a foundation of environmental knowledge that the next generation of Regis scholars may take with them after graduating.
In the past, SPEAK and its members have:
*Hosted an Environmental Film Series on our campus
*Participated in direct action to Stop Global Warming right here in Colorado and also in Washington D.C.
*Worked to bring a recycling program to our campus
*Hosted local and organic food sampling days
*Traveled to Participate in the Tribal Lands Climate Conference
*Worked to reduce the amount of waste generated on our campus
