This is to inform everyone of the wonders of the Brooklyn Museum. It's to tell you about the wonderful exhibits and shows that are upcoming and at the present time, as well as all about the special Target First Saturdays. These are every first Saturday of every month, where we have fun, very unique, FREE programs all night long. The museum is open regularly on Saturdays from 11-6pm. However, on these First Saturdays have their programming 5pm-11pm. There are dance parties, food, a bar with beer and wine, lectures/talks/etc. And it's all FREE. Try something new. Come on down (and visit me in the gift shop, too of course:) and tell all your friends. And you can still get back in time to go to your regularly scheduled Saturday night party.
It's a good experience, cultured, very different, and definitely worth coming on down for.
To get to the Brooklyn Museum you can take the 2/3 to Eastern Parkway and it lets you off right in front of the new impressive front of the Museum.
If you are driving, I usually just go straight down Ocean Ave. until I hit Flatbush. One block after Flatbush I turn left onto Washington Ave. and that takes you straight to the parking lot for the Botanic Gardens and Brooklyn Museum. And yes, you could totally do the both of them in one day.
Keep coming back for more :) It's a great place to relax, reminisce, reflect, write, read, listen to music, lie down on a blanket, do your homework, whatever. It's just a great place. Both of them.
