This is the official Facebook Group for the Japan Center for Michigan Universities (JCMU), a consortium of Michigan's 15 public universities. JCMU operates intensive Japanese language and culture study abroad programs in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. JCMU is part of the Michigan-Shiga Sister-State Program. JCMU welcomes participants from all majors and from colleges and universities throughout world.

"Official" here only means this is the group that is maintained by the JCMU Program Office in E. Lansing, Michigan. Many other JCMU-related groups exist providing a good opportunity for program participant and alumni networking and are a source of additional information. This group is set-up to facilitate communication from the JCMU Program Office regarding JCMU-related activities and among the members of the JCMU community (prospective participants, current students, and alumni) utilizing the social networking forum of Facebook.

Currently this group is open for membership and all options for communication are enabled. I would ask that postings, discussions, and photos be kept appropriate for the nature and intent of this group.
