On behalf of all who play, welcome to this group which is dedicated wholly to the all-consuming game. Here are the three basic rules.
1. Any time you think of the game, you lose.
2. When you lose, tell those around you that you've lost.
3. If anyone asks what you mean by "I lose", inform them of the game and its rules, and welcome them into the game.
You are now (and forever) playing; welcome to the game. The beauty of the game lies in that any time you realize you've been winning, you lose. Additionally, rule three guarantees that the group will naturally spread itself. At any given time, a player is: winning (and not knowing it), losing, or cheating (and not admitting or confessing to loss). Don't fall to the dark side.
Getting Technical: Sustained Loss vs. Isolated loss
The creator (or Creator) of the game originally set it up in a manner such that when one lost, one continued to lose, or "was losing", until one stopped thinking about the game. In some regions, however, the game has evolved to define loss as a momentary occurance and to include a flexible grace period; that is, when a person loses, he or she has a certain time (of grace) before he or she loses again, at which time the grace period restarts. The length of an individual's grace period depends on his or her skill, and it may last anywhere from 3 minutes to a day.
Although you may zealously confess your loss on the wall, it is not necessary every time you lose. Merely writing something on the wall in such a group founded on the game will suffice to implicitly represent your understanding that you've lost.
After reading this, you are already either on a massive losing streak, or in grace period. Congratulations! Now go forth, minions, and spread the word of the game to others!
