Salamlar, TSAB members!

Welcome to another auspicious semester! We hope you had a wonderful break and New Years! TSAB has some exciting events lined up for this semester.
Please let us know if you are interested in tabling for us and writing for
our new Journal (Birlik). Let's take a look...

*General meeting:* This semester's first general meeting is Wednesday,
January 30th at 109 Dwinelle at 7:00 PM. Refreshments will be served. So
come by and meet your fellow TSAB members and make new friends.

*Consulate visit: *On February 1st, at 7:00 PM at 2060 VLSB, TSAB will be
hosting a talk by the Turkish Consulate from Los Angeles. His speech will
include topics about: Relations with Modern Turkey and the US, Turkey's
Role in Europe and the Middle East and followed by an Open Forum.

*Journal (Birlik): *To spread our message to more people, we are
establishing a student-run journal to let the campus know of Turkic events,
cultures, and news. Anyone interested in writing should send us an email
listing ideas for article topics ASAP.

*Tabling: *TSAB has bid farewell to two of our executive members this
semester for they have gone abroad for spring. This means that we have even
fewer people to table on Sproul during the hours of 11am-2pm Monday through
Friday. If you are free during this time and are interested in tabling, send
us the hours you are free.

*Movie nights: *We will be continuing our tradition of monthly, dollar movie
nights. So far, "In July" has been chosen. If you have ideas for any others
you'd like us to show, please send us an email.
*Dance group: *This semester, we will be creating a dance group. Anyone
interested is welcome, no experience necessary. We would be holding regular
practices throughout the semester of a cultural dance choreographed by TSAB
members. Our goal is to perform at International House on Cal Day in April.

*Lectures: *We are planning on holding lectures throughout the semester
featuring various professors and experts of Turkic cultures.
